Pressure Booster Stations - Controls

Dependable Station Controllers, engineered to meet your requirements, have a variety of adjustable pressure controls: H-O-A selectors for each pump, overload reset buttons and circuit breakers for station accessories.
Automatic controls operate pump functions and warning systems. All field connections are clearly identified for fast and efficient electrical hookup.

All standard NEMA rated enclosures are available to meet even the most rigid specifications. Custom enclosures can be provided for unique applications.

PACOFLO 9000-ES End Suction Pump Booster Systems

Variable Volume - Constant Speed

Constant Pressure Booster Systems

Pumps are Paco LC close coupled Smart Pumps with high, broad band efficiency for low operating cost and back pull-out ease in maintenance. Standard with bronze fitted construction and mechanical seals suitable for intended duty. Other construction available.

Connections between pumps and manifolding are bolted with companion flanges or quick disconnect type to facilitate repair or retrofit and shorten downtime.

Isolation Valves are provided at each pumps suction and discharge to permit operation of system while individual pumps are "off line."

PRV'S, when specified for each pump are pilot operated angle type to provide constant down-stream pressure and to minimize losses. Valve location and construction allows ease in servicing. PRV's are combination type and include non-slam check valves. Single System

PRV's in both pilot operated and direct acting styles are available.

Non-Slam Check Valves are used for each pump when PRV's are not used.

Manifolds are all 300 series Stainless Steel to insure compatibility with pumpage, rigid construction, and use for potable water systems. Non corrosive nature of manifolds allows broad application, eliminates use of non-recommended lead sweats or other potentially toxic materials; also eliminating any requirement for dielectric fittings associated with galvanized pipe.

Base plate is solid steel to provide maximum support and strength.

Suction and Discharge Pressure Gauges are standard and allow system monitoring.

Control Panel is UL listed, contains magnetic starters, thermal overload relays, circuit breakers, disconnect for each pump, externally resettable H-O-A switches, motor run lights, 120 VAC control transformers. Panel is complete with programmable alarm functions (which can all be varied by time of day, season, jobsite conditions, etc.). Features include Lead Pump failure protection, 24 hour alternation of equal sized pumps, variable time sequencing, high suction pressure shutdown, low suction pressure/level shutdown, no flow shutdown, high system pressure shutdown, with individual lights for each condition as well as audible alarm and reset. Panel options are virtually unlimited and include visual LED read-out, phase-loss, lighting arrestors, etc.

Hydropneumatic Tanks are ASME code, FDA approved bladder type with full draw down and are available in a variety of sizes and ratings. Tanks are either system or remote mounted and provide maximum energy conservation and flexibility.

Pressure Transducers rather than pressure switches are used to sense pressure changes for maximum accuracy.

Flow Sequencing using the Pacomonitor direct acting flow sensor insures highest accuracy and maximum savings. Standard duplex sequencing is 3 step, while triplex sequencing is 5 step, eliminating wasted power consumption and most closely matching the individual pumps to the demand. No-flow shutdown adds another step to these already advanced sequencing functions. Pressure sensing or current sensing sequencing is also available when required.

Thermal Purge system is standard and allows purging of hot water when continued operation at no flow creates excessive heat, in order to protect the pumps.

Pacomonitor Flow Sensor - The patented Pacomonitor Flow Sensor is used not only to provide direct flow sensing and sequencing - long established as the MOST ACCURATE method available - but also to insure dependability, consistency and improved operating costs. All sequencing is accomplished from a single location, making any adjustments or fine tuning easy, minimizing downtime.

Pumps - Pumps are Paco type LC end suction Smart Pumps renowned for their reliability and efficiency. The efficiency is high and has a broad efficiency band, insuring cost effective operation with system-curve fluctuations. Back pull out, bronze fitted construction is standard, but a virtually unlimited variety of options are available.

Pressure Regulating Valves - When dictated by the requirements of the installation, pressure regulating valves (PRV's) are used to maintain, precisely, constant downstream pressure regardless of varying suction conditions. Specially sized angle type valves are used to minimize pressure losses and required loads.

Control Panel - The unique Pacoflo 9000 control panel contains not only standard features such as H-O-A switches, starters, and disconnects for each pump (as discussed on the previous page), but also a 10 year battery backed-up programmable controller linked to the sequencing and alarm functions to further insure that the system is doing what it is designed to do, when it's supposed to do it….even if the criteria change!

Hydropneumatic Tanks - When desired for maximum energy savings, Hydropneumatic tanks are supplied, either system mounted or for remote installation. Tanks are intended to provide pressure to the installation during periods of low demand so that the booster can be completely shut down, conserving energy and minimizing operating costs.
